The foundation of True Cleanse is psyllium husk, one of the most well-documented fiber sources in nutritional history. Psyllium absorbs water in the digestive tract and forms a soft, gel-like mass that moves through the intestines slowly and thoroughly. Cascara sagrada works alongside it, an herb traditionally used to support occasional digestive comfort, while licorice root has long been valued across herbal traditions for its soothing role in the digestive system. Black walnut hulls have long been used in traditional cleansing practices associated with parasite resistance, and kelp rounds out the profile with a natural mineral content prized across coastal cultures. Cat's claw is also included, a heritage botanical drawn from the same Amazonian tradition as the rest of this formula.
